Medecision is looking for a Senior Health Care Data Analyst, a passionate power contributor who blends proven

ability to positively impact the usability of health care data with solid systematic diagnostic and solutioning experience specific to health care data management challenges. The right individual, will have solid Data Operations background including communication, Healthcare analytic knowledge skills, operational facilitation, documentation and change management. This position will need to have proven problem solving skills, issue escalation, root cause analysis and resolution experience while having experience from working within a SaaS organization

You, as the Senior Health Care Data Analyst, will oversee critical data processes for quality and conformance to standards.  Perform ad hoc analysis as needed to determine root cause of unexpected results. 

 

Reports to:  Senior Director, Data Management Team

Location(s): Remote

Responsibilities

YOU’RE GOOD AT:

  • Understanding the specific data management requirements and challenges within the health care industry
  • Systematically managing data processing and output to expected results
  • Generating, evaluating and executing methods to assess data inputs and outputs against expectations
  • Understanding data quality requirements, monitoring operational and SLA reporting and spotting data anomalies
  • Training junior team members on data management operations and procedures
  • Interfacing with clients in operational and review settings
  • Documenting data stock and flow specifications, especially in converting business level knowledge requirements to technical data specifications
  • Working in a team setting to diagnose and solution data quality challenges
  • Driving operational best practices that solve real business challenges across Medecision
  • Orchestrating data driven resolution of high-impact and cross-functional challenges
  • Maintaining regular and ad-hoc operating metrics and performance gauges such as the balanced scorecard
  • Supporting User Acceptance testing (UAT) and maintaining operational documentation
  • Partnering with implementation teams to smoothly transition new clients and internal roll outs to production
  • Working flexible hours

Qualifications

YOU HAVE:

  • At least 5 + years of experience working in data management in the health care industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Computer Science, Analytics, or Business
  • In depth operational expertise in health care demographic and transactional data transfer standards including X12 based formats such 834s, 837I, 837p and 274s; HL7 messaging based standards including LOINC, Lab and CCDA and standards from National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP)
  • Working knowledge of common health care reference data sets such as National Drug Codes (NDCs) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD) 
  • Working knowledge of widely used Health Care data analytics providers and associated tools including Verisk and Truven(MEG)
  • Experience using and troubleshooting Linux, Oracle database & Mongo databases
  • Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage IT work activities, processes and progress within a system to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to understand reported issues, customer business workflows, and provide suggestions on business direction
  • Document and adhere to change management process
  • In-depth knowledge of at least 3 clinical data formats, such as C-CDA, CCD, ADT, Lab, Pharmacy, etc.
  • Experience with clinical nomenclature: LOINC, SNOMED CT, CPT, ICD 9 or 10 CM, RxNorm, et al.
  • Past experience developing effective contingency plans for potential data risks
  • Ability to travel <10%.
